Arendelle in the movie Frozen is real.... the village is called Siksjönäs
Secret.... but for you, we can reveal that Arendelle in the movie Frost / Frozen actually exists!
Today we're taking up ice pillars from the lake, Siksjön. They will become an ice church inside Vilhelmina. In February every year, winter is celebrated with a real festival, a winter festival called WWW, Wilhelmina Winter Weekend.
Then we compete in ice pillar sitting, i.e., who can sit the longest on a 2.5m high pillar of ice - you sit for a couple of days 😉 Come and test if you dare!
But a real church is also built of ice, in which, among other things, weddings are performed!
It's cold, beautiful and very fun, but first the ice must be sawn and picked up from the ice-cold water - just like in the movie Frost / Frozen. Therefore, we would argue that our village IS the real Arendelle. Look at the pictures, isn't it similar to the movie?!
The church is built by Vilhelmina Lions club and the festival itself is organized by Visit Vilhelmina
