Baking flatbread is an old craft
Yesterday we baked flatbread, a sweaty chore but oh so fun!
It's both hot and heavy, but the feeling of baking your own bread as it has been done in our area for generations is also a true pleasure. We have the great privilege in Vilhelmina Municipality to have a municipal bakery in central Vilhelmina. At the top of the old church town is the newly built bakery, which is timbered in an old style. The inside is well thought out, spacious and solid in every way.

Of course, we took the opportunity to test all our brushes and baking utensils – we have of course tested them before, but only for more everyday baking such as cinnamon buns and saffron buns.
The dough scraper and the small brush in wood and bristle are designed by Lovisa Wattman for Iris Hantverk, both the dough scraper and the baking brush fit nicely in the hand, they are neat and fine, not at all heavy but easy to work with. The large holes make them easy to hang up wherever there is a knob or hook, and there are of course plenty of those in most bakeries.
The soft brush in bristle and wood is just soft enough to brush the flour off the cakes before they are baked, and the rice straw whisk is indispensable at the oven and of course when cleaning.
