This weekend, with combined forces and our fantastic broadband expert from the village, albeit in exile in Stockholm, we got the broadband up and running.
Our network in the village is old; we were very early in Siksjönäs to get good broadband, but that was a few years ago, and parts of the network that were built then have actually stopped working, simply the wear and tear of time. But all credit to those who realized the importance of a good connection so early and actually made it a reality; 17 years is a lot in the IT industry. This meant that we were almost without a connection, and since Telia offers almost total radio shadow, it has to be solved with our own power. Now it is both solved and wireless! If you live in the Stockholm area and need help with broadband, we can highly recommend Alexander Norman and Adminor AB; it's professional and fast!
- Just think... thanks to development, it is entirely possible to both live and work as we do – out in the woods!
Thanks to broadband, for example, newspapers are digital today (saving paper and printing ink). Magnus, who previously commuted 140-160 miles/week, actually now has employment that doesn't require such long journeys at all.
(VästerbottensSåpa, the factory or Såperiet as we call it, is located here in Siksjönäs)
When technology is used in a good way, it actually becomes an environmental measure!
Work requires energy, so at lunchtime, the village's hefty coffee pot, a piece of pork, and grilled sausage came out. When the autumn sun shines on us, we like to eat outside!

Don't we Siksjönäs residents live quite nicely?
