The holidays are definitely over and schools have started and it can actually be really nice with a little routine again. Regardless of whether you are returning from a chaotic summer with troublesome relatives, a muddy festival summer or a beach holiday with rest, swimming and ice cream, it is returning to routines that gives the feeling of stability and security.

Your own bed, the healthy but slightly boring breakfast and the news on your mobile or do you perhaps still get a good old-fashioned paper newspaper?

So that the feeling of being stuck in the rat race doesn't set in, it is important to get the everyday things like laundry and cleaning in order. If you have some "momentum" on these things, it is easier to have time and energy left over for things other than "everyday life".

Here are some tips from me to you who are struggling with this.

1. Identify your "trouble-makers". What is cluttering up your home?

For us it is paper, mail, advertising. Immediately sorting out advertising and other things that have no practical use and no other place than in the paper collection helps a lot.

It's also clothes. Everyone sorts their clothes into their drawers and wardrobes at home with us. The rule is that no clothes should be left out. It took a little while but now everyone sorts dirty clothes into the dirty laundry basket directly and what is not dirty has its given place.

Perhaps you have something else that is often "lying around" at home?

2.
Avoid morning chaos.

Morning chaos is the worst, therefore we always check what to pack the night before. Evening coffee and packing a backpack go together. In this way, gym shoes or snacks are rarely missed.

3. Don't stress about food.

At our house, food is a big and important part of life and we generally eat very good food. That doesn't mean expensive food but rather no convenience food. Now you may think that takes too long. But you know what, it's mostly a matter of planning.

An example: On Sunday we make a large batch of taco mince, far more than we will eat. We eat tacos on Sunday. On Monday, I add crushed tomatoes and quite a lot of grated carrots and cabbage and onions, garlic and a little Chinese soy for the color and basil for the taste to the minced meat. Spaghetti is cooked for that. This is done in a few minutes. Voila, a newly cooked dish - Minced meat sauce and spaghetti.

Tuesday, then it can be thick pancake, we have a lot of berries in the freezer so we eat pancakes on weekdays and then I make a thick pancake because it cooks itself in the oven, extremely fast.

Wednesday, then I take what is left of the minced meat sauce, add plenty of chili and beans. I usually buy bean mixes, precooked. For this I cook rice and voila - Chilli con carne.

In this way we conjure up four well-cooked dishes in no time!
