It is so healthy and invigorating in the mountains

Week 10 is our sports holiday here, and one day during the sports holiday we usually go to the mountains to ski. It's a nice trip through Vilhelmina Municipality, we live quite grandly here, we all have plenty of elbow room. We have 140 kilometers from home up to Klimpfjäll, but there is actually the indescribable luxury of being able to choose from two mountain valleys. We have Kultsjödalen with the Klimpfjäll slopes and then we have Vojmådalen with Kittelfjäll, which offers slightly tougher skiing. If you are considering skiing, you are very welcome to Vilhelmina, we have everything to offer here. There is skiing for families and beginners and for real pros.
We headed to Kultsjödalen and Klimpfjäll and had a fantastic day on the slopes.

The sun shone on us all day, and we were able to eat outside at the service area by the lift.

I have never been on a pair of telemark skis before, but this year I found a pair of used telemark skis and boots in my size and went for it. It was a little exciting to go up in the lift for the first run. It was a bit of a challenge, but I made it both up and down and after a couple of runs, it felt like I had at least understood how it works and I managed a few nice turns even though there is clearly some practice to be done when it comes to telemark because it is a completely different thing than skiing on regular slalom skis. Try it if you get the chance because it was a lot of fun! It also felt like a good thing to do now that the children are so big that they don't need that much help anymore.

I like to have the car fully charged, especially when it's a bit of a drive, so we took the opportunity to charge the car at Hotell Klimpfjäll where there are fast chargers and at the same time have dinner.

Pizza i klimpfjall

There are few things that beat pizza with souvas and chanterelles. It's real luxury. The pizza is called Stekenjokk. Stekenjokk is a high mountain area that lies between Stora Blåsjön in northern Jämtland and Klimpfjäll in southern Lapland and borders Börgefjell National Park in Norway. If you drive the Wilderness Road, Klimpfjäll is the "last outpost" before you get up onto the bare mountains and reach Stekenjokk. This is a good tourist destination in the summer. In the winter, there is far too much snow to be able to keep the road open, but just in time for National Day on June 6, the road is usually plowed.

We had a great day in the mountains, quite simply, and landed home around seven o'clock, fell asleep without being rocked.
