Things we shouldn't talk about, periods for example!
Every year, more than 45 billion menstrual products are thrown away somewhere.
This means that more than 90 million pads and panty liners are incinerated or buried in garbage heaps in Scandinavia every year. It takes about 500 years for a sanitary pad to break down into tiny, tiny particles in the soil. This process is called destruction and is very different from the process that occurs when something breaks down biologically.

We are rightly concerned about all these plastic bags that are used daily, but the use of plastic-filled menstrual products can be equated to about 180 billion plastic bags added to the world's garbage mountains.
On average, a woman uses 3600 pads and tampons over a 10-year period. If you were to stack all these tampons on top of each other, the stack would be 1.6 km high, that is, as high as the Eiffel Tower.
The comparison makes it easier to picture the environmental impact that pads and tampons have on our earth.
So what should we do about this?
We can start by using a menstrual product that is not disposable. OrganiCup helps to reduce environmental impact while your body becomes healthier, your life easier, and your wallet thicker. A properly maintained OrganiCup lasts for 10 years. OrganiCup is made of only medical-grade silicone, while pads and tampons can contain things like chlorine, bleach, glue, perfume, and lotion.
Seriously... there's chlorine and glue in the products we women sneak around with once a month!?
Why hasn't anyone told us about this before?
Change and improvement AND this is a very clear example of what happens when we don't talk about things but sneak around with something that should actually be the world's most natural thing... it IS a prerequisite for children to be conceived!
How has this been able to become an "impurity" and shame?
The menstrual cup was invented in the 1930s, and now in 2016, we hear about it for the first time, the environmental problem, and the toxins in our regular menstrual products, doesn't it make you a bit tired?
What we did here was immediately-bam take in Organic Cup in the range and write this blog, of course 😉
Read more about the product here, and make an environmental effort by talking to someone who hasn't yet heard about the menstrual cup!
