If You Have Potatoes, You Have Everything!

Sure, you can buy most things nowadays, but it's still "indispensable," as we say here, to be without potatoes. We feel as rich as trolls now that the potato cellar is full of potatoes.
In the past, it was no picnic to harvest potatoes, nor was it to plant them and weed. Now we are so lucky that we have farmers in the village who know how to do this! One of them, Mattias, comes from Gafsele in Åsele, and my friends, they know potatoes there!!!

Unfortunately, the poor tubers have probably been a little chilly this summer, because they've had water and cow manure, but still haven't grown to any extreme size directly.
But a small potato is also a potato!

And you know what we Norrlanders make from potatoes... Palt, of course!
It's a myth that you can't make palt from new potatoes – if you know your stuff, you adjust the amount of flour, and as you can see: Palt it was!
Palt is served (according to us) with lingonberry jam (from the village, of course), Butter & Milk from Norrmejerier and, of course, syrup.
