Winter cleaning, 6 tips to make it a little easier

We have put together a list with some tips just for this season.

1. Keep it tidy outside. A good broom makes it easy to keep steps and patios free from slipping. It's a little more fun with a nice broom, perhaps even with a knitted stick warmer. Stick warmers from Västerbottenssåpa are knitted by hand from leftover yarn – recycling you know  We don't want anything to go to waste.

2. Use the snow (if you have snow where you are) to freshen up the carpets.
Here's how to do it!

3. Take the opportunity to dust and clean the bedroom now that the air is dry and the dust is swirling around, it's a good idea to go through the bedroom right now. You can take mattress toppers to the laundry, but it's not always necessary; it works well to clean them with baking soda. Here you can read how to do it.

4. Sort through papers, newspapers, and advertisements. It's easy to get too much paper, so be sure to take paper to the paper collection and make sure to arrange a good place for paper collection at home. When you have that, it's then easy to keep paper tidy at home. You can save some newspapers so you have them when it's time to sow and replant.Plantera om

5. The pantry is also a project that is good to take care of during the winter when the garden, balcony, or other spring and summer activities don't take up time. Unfortunately, it is quite easy to be affected by pests. Even the most well-cleaned pantry can be affected by pests. It only takes that you happen to get a single package with "bad contents" from the store, and you may have to throw everything away, and that's sad. Therefore, it is a good idea to go through the pantry and preferably transfer things that you use often and a lot of to glass or tin cans. If you gradually replace bags with cans, it will make cleaning much easier. Bags very easily get small holes, and a little flour often hides in the bag's folds, which will leak out and make your pantry dirty. A tin can with flour in it is easy to close properly; it is also easy to wipe off and keep clean around. The difference between storing flour in a tin can versus having it in the bag is big, so the work of transferring pays off in the long run.Plastbanta

6.  Start the project to reduce plastic. Some do everything at once, but it is much easier to replace things gradually. Reducing plastic means replacing plastic that may contain harmful chemicals with natural materials. It is most common to start in the kitchen with plastics whose toxins you risk getting through the food. So, number one is to replace plastic utensils that come into direct contact with food with wood or glass. Go through your kitchen drawers and see what you can spare and what you should replace.

Those were our 6 points with cleaning tips for dark winter evenings.
