Can you wash decking with soap? Yes, you certainly can! In fact, all wood—and indeed all natural materials—benefit from being cleaned with fat soap. Soap that is not super-fatted can instead dry out the materials and is therefore better suited for cleaning things that do not need to be re-greased.
