Can you soap-wash pressure-treated wood?

Yes, you can absolutely soap pressure-treated wood. Today's pressure treatment is very good; you don't have to worry or be concerned that your decking will rot or be destroyed because you don't treat it with lots of chemicals spring and fall. It's simply not necessary when the wood is pressure-treated.

What you can or should do is make sure that the surface is such that you want to spend time on it, that it feels comfortable to walk on, and that it looks nice. Another good thing is if the decking is easy to clean. In the summer, you want to have as much time as possible for things other than washing and cleaning ;)

Feel free to soap your pressure-treated decking; it will make it silky smooth and pleasant to be on. The soap will remove algae and mold from an older deck and spills from all the summer parties.
