Can you wash towels and underwear together?

It is possible to wash towels and underwear together, but it is important to keep a few things in mind for the best results:


When it works:

- Color: Make sure that both the towels and underwear are from the same color group (e.g., whites or darks) to prevent the colors from running and staining the clothes.

 

When you should avoid washing them together:


- Delicate underwear: If your underwear is made of delicate materials such as lace or silk, or contains elastic bands that can wear out at high temperatures, you should wash it separately on a gentler cycle (delicates or hand wash) and at a lower temperature.
- Fabric softener: Fabric softener can make towels softer, but it can negatively affect the elastic in underwear and reduce its durability. Fabric softener is not needed if you use All-purpose Detergent; it makes clothes soft without fabric softener.

Wash regular cotton underwear and towels together at 60°C without fabric softener. However, delicate underwear should be washed separately on a gentler cycle.
