Start by wiping out all visible dirt with soap spray and a cloth. Carefully go over the rubber seal and wipe both it and the door. The seal is often double and things can hide in it.
Some machines are designed so that you can remove the detergent drawer. If possible, remove it and wash it out with soap and a brush. If not, use soap spray and a cloth to wipe it out. Then mix bicarbonate of soda and water and wipe out the compartment again.
If you see limescale deposits on the detergent door, you can easily remove them with our limescale removal gel – but don't forget to wipe it off afterwards. Avoid putting the compartment in the machine as it is, as it may foam a little too much.
Then add a couple of tablespoons of vinegar to the washing machine drum and run a 90°C program without laundry in the machine.
The recommendation is to do this twice a year to keep the machine fresh. This is especially important if you often wash at lower temperatures.
