How often should you clean?
Sara IdenforsThe answer depends on several factors, such as household size, whether there are pets or children, and the home itself.

A general guideline is to clean once a week to keep the home fresh, while the kitchen and bathroom may require daily cleaning. In addition, a more thorough cleaning, such as a deep clean, is recommended a few times a year. How long and how “difficult” that cleaning is depends on the routines you establish at home. If everyone in the household agrees to and helps with taking out the rubbish regularly, sorting waste, starting the dishwasher, putting dirty laundry in laundry baskets, and so on, weekly cleaning will not be such a big task. If, on the other hand, all the work is saved for one single day, it becomes a bigger job.
A good routine we like to recommend is never going to bed without clearing the dishes from the kitchen counter. This means that when you are in a bit of a hurry the next morning (perhaps), it is easy to prepare and clear away breakfast without creating a “mountain of dishes and rubbish” at home.
1. How often should you clean?
Answer: Preferably once a week. But please read the text above.
2. Do you also need to do a deep clean?
Answer: No, but it is often a good idea to go through and clean areas that are not used frequently once a year.
3. What role do routines play in cleaning?
Answer: Routines are important for continuously getting rid of rubbish, dishes, and laundry, so that all the cleaning does not accumulate into one single occasion and thereby become a major problem.
