Wash flowerpots
During these planting times, we would like to give tips on washing or cleaning your flowerpots with soap. VästerbottenSåpa is mild, natural, and re-greasing while killing most pests such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses that can otherwise spread to this year's new fresh plants.
Give your plants a good start. Recycling is our motto, so recycle all pots until they no longer hold together, that is our tip. Even plastic pots, in fact also the thin little planting pots that the summer flowers come in, can be washed and used for, for example, sowing seeds.
When they have done their job, they are sorted as hard plastic and recycled.
Here's how you can do it:
Knock out as much soil as possible and brush out any dry soil that is stuck along the pot's walls. If you know that you have had problems with pests, it is advantageous to let the pots soak in water with a generous dollop of soap for a while before you wash out your pots.
We have used a coarser scrubbing brush from Västerbottenssåpa. It effectively removes the dried-on soil. After that, we have used a softer dish brush with soft bristle for the outside as we are also a little careful about the fine patina that old ones have.
Then the pots are left to dry until they are really dry before it's time for planting again – we'll get back to that!
And now don't forget to clean the sink, brushes, counter, and floor.
Sinks, especially stainless steel ones, become very nice when you clean them with soap, everything that doesn't come off when you just lightly wipe them with detergent and a cloth disappears instantly with a little soap.
If the counter/sink is very ingrained, as it can be in, for example, garages and laundry rooms, we recommend this sponge and solid VästerbottensSåpa.
Now we are just waiting for spring so that the growing season really gets going.
