January is a symbolic month for new beginnings. 3 points for a fresh start in 2025.

January is a symbolic month for new beginnings, so it's also a good opportunity to create cleaning routines that can help you stay organized all year round!

Sure, there's something a little quirky about this whole thing with New Year's resolutions and fresh starts, but if you have an idea to change a routine, then surely you should be allowed to use the new year as a starting clock for that. Let's be a little kind to ourselves and allow that some people like the idea of a new year and a fresh start. Here I've put together three points that might be helpful in your fresh start for 2025, and of course it has a little cleaning theme, what else would come from me ;)

1. Reduce chemical use in one "thing" at home every quarter. Find one thing to remove or improve at home every quarter. That way, by the end of the year you've made 4 improvements at home, for yourself, your family and for the planet. It can be - replace a food you buy a lot of with a non-sprayed eco-alternative. For example, switch to organic potatoes, or tomatoes. Or replace a cleaning product with a gentler variant without warning text. Or stop buying clothes from cheap apps with production in countries without requirements for chemical control.

2. Get organized with sorting of paper, plastic, compost. This is so important for all order and cleaning at home. Being able to easily sort and place the right "waste" in the right place makes so much difference and saves so much time. So invest in getting the sorting organized

3. Involve and engage the family. Make sure to get everyone in the family to help with laundry, sorting, and cleaning in a good way. It might not be optimal for everyone to run the washing machine or dishwasher, but everyone (almost everyone) can help with putting things in the dishwasher, putting laundry in the laundry basket and hanging up their clothes. Here there are some different tricks that make it more of a game than "nagging," one thing that has worked well for us has been the "Sock Game," it allows even the youngest in the family to help and think it's a bit fun.The little ones have been tasked with sorting washed socks and each pair has given an extra piece of candy in the Saturday candy bag. Then sorting the socks becomes a competition in how many pairs you can find and you can also win a candy for each pair. A good intro to helping out.
