Please note that Västerbottenssåpa is a cleaning product and is registered as such. These tips come from independent individuals who have themselves found other uses.
Felting wool:
Craftspeople who felt wool recommend VästerbottesSåpan, which is greasier than many other soaps and works excellently for this purpose. Since the soap contains no residues of sulfur or resin (which may be present in soap based on by-products from the pulp industry), it is also gentle on allergy sufferers.
Rubber boots:
They look like new when cleaned with soap.
Work clothes:
Soak heavily soiled work clothes, such as workshop overalls, in warm water and soap; leave them overnight. Then wash them in the machine.
Stain removal:
Almost all types of stains on clothes can be removed with soap, including blueberries and greasy stains.
Aphid control:
Mix soap and water and spray it on aphid-infested plants. The aphids suffocate from the soap (they do not die from poisoning), so all leaves with aphids must be sprayed.
Washing your hands:
Västerbotenssåpan is greasy and therefore dissolves other grease, so if you get oil or resin on your hands, you can easily clean them with Västerbottenssåpa.
Animal shampoo:
Wash dogs, cats, and horses with soap.
Horse equipment:
Soap does not dry out the leather, as other cleaning products can. All of your horse’s equipment benefits from being cleaned with soap. The entire stable can also be cleaned with soap.
Barn:
Clean the barn with soap for environmentally friendly cleaning.
The car:
Rubber mats and other plastic and rubber items look like new when cleaned with a greasy soap.
Foot care:
Sore feet, blisters, ingrown toenails, etc. are effectively treated with warm foot baths – soap + warm water.
Sticking drawers and squeaky hinges:
Apply a layer of soap and they will slide more easily.
