Wash with solid soap – a natural and effective stain remover

Solid soap is fantastic as a stain remover and laundry detergent. Soap is particularly effective for removing greasy stains. Unlike liquid soap, the solid soap is easier to work with and rub into the stain because it does not run off and disappear. Below, we show how we removed stains from a white tablecloth.

The first image from the left shows the white tablecloth with stains from a greasy brown sauce—not ideal, but don’t worry, it’s no problem!

The image in the middle – Here, we applied the solid soap to all the stains. Feel free to work the soap in with a little, very little, water and a brush or sponge before putting it in the washing machine.

The third image – Here, the tablecloth has been machine-washed according to the care instructions. The stains are completely gone! Västerbottenssåpa is, like linseed oil soap, superfatting soap, which gives it its remarkable ability to dissolve greasy stains.

Soap instead of bile soap?

Many of our customers who use soap specifically for stain removal say that Västerbottenssåpa works similarly to bile soap, with the difference that textiles do not become rough and stiff from the soap.

Customers’ own laundry tips with Västerbottenssåpa

We are very grateful for all the lovely emails we receive from you, our customers. They often contain tips about smart ways to use Västerbottenssåpa. On the subject of textiles and laundry, we have received several wonderful reports from customers who wash heavily soiled work clothes with soap and achieve fantastic results. One particularly lovely email came from a man who told us that he wears out his work clothes and that they get really, really dirty. For several years, he had tested various strong detergents, but has now switched completely to the solid soap. He goes on to explain that he soaks the work clothes in warm water with a generous dollop of solid soap and leaves them overnight before washing them in the machine as usual. The result is clean and soft work clothes washed with an environmentally friendly soap. Many thanks for that report!

 

Other reports mention, for example, that stains from beetroot and blueberries that previously could not be removed are easily removed with Västerbottenssåpa.
