Clean the oven with soap, 4 simple steps. Here's how you do it!

In this blog, we tell you how to clean the oven in a few simple steps, completely without harsh chemicals.

1. Start by brushing out all the loose "junk" in the oven with a brush. Take out the grate but do not remove parts that are not supposed to be removed. If the instruction manual does not say that the parts can be removed for cleaning, you should not try to remove them; instead, you should leave them in place and clean around them.

This is what you need:

When it comes to the soap, it is much easier to clean the oven with a rich soap. Fat dissolves fat – the like dissolves like principle. Dirt in the oven is often fat. What is not fat is residue from food (plant or animal kingdom); a rule of thumb for natural cleaning is to use something alkaline to remove residue from the plant or animal kingdom. Västerbottenssåpa is both rich and alkaline.

Another advantage of solid soap is that it is so solid and thick that you can make a thick foam out of it without it running off the oven's inner walls and ceiling.

2. Work the soap in with a little water over all the oven's surfaces. Some ovens have parts that can be detached and cleaned separately.

3. Start the oven at 90 - 100 degrees for about 20 minutes; for extra effect, place a bowl of water in it. It's the steam we want! Hot water and soap work well together.

4. Now be careful when you start wiping out the oven! Let the water cool down before you start wiping out the oven. Another option is to leave the oven with the soap in it overnight and continue the next day.

Use the ecofiber cloth when you wipe out, and you will see that the dirt comes off very easily now. Wipe out with a damp cloth.

If the grate is badly burned, it may need to be wrapped in soap and water and left overnight before being wiped with an ecofiber cloth and water.

This is what it looks like when it's done!
