Christmas is approaching – and with it comes the need to polish up copper pots, pans and details. In this cleaning tip from Västerbottenssåpa, we show you how to polish copper easily and in an environmentally friendly way using ingredients you already have at home.
Polishing copper – step by step
1. Clean the copper: Make sure the copper items are free from grease and dust. Clean them with soap and lukewarm water.
2. Polish with natural ingredients: Use cleaning vinegar and ordinary table salt until you are satisfied with the shine.
3. Rinse thoroughly: White spots mean that all the salt has not been rinsed away. Therefore, rinse thoroughly in lukewarm water.
4. Dry thoroughly: Use a dishcloth to dry the surface completely and reveal its shine.
Important to keep in mind!
Do not use this method on collectible coins or antique copper items.
