Stains, how to remove them in alphabetical order. Here is the blog about stains starting with H and up to N
HP Sauce
Wet the stain until the textile fibers stop absorbing more water; they should be saturated. Apply soap to the stain and work it in, rinse again with lukewarm water, and repeat until the stain is "gone." Machine wash according to the washing instructions.
Ice Pop
Ice pop stains are usually from the coloring agent in the frozen "juice." Wet with lukewarm water, treat with soap and a brush/sponge. If the color remains (blue can be stubborn), treat the stain with glycerin, let it sit for at least 20 minutes, and then remove the glycerin with laundry detergent. Wash according to the washing instructions.
Coffee
Remove the stain as quickly as possible with lukewarm water and dish soap. Remember that the textile fibers need to be completely wetted.
If the stain has been there for a long time, wet the stain with lukewarm water. Apply glycerin and let the stain sit with the glycerin on it. Then wash away the glycerin with soap and lukewarm water and machine wash according to the washing instructions.
Vomit
Pick up as much as possible with paper towels and dispose of them in a trash bag that you can tie up and discard immediately. Plastic gloves are good to have.
Pour plenty of baking soda over the entire stain and let the baking soda absorb moisture from the material. If the material has absorbed vomit, it may be necessary to wash with laundry detergent and water. Fill a bucket with a little all-purpose detergent and water. Dip a towel in the detergent water and press against the stain. Absorb with a clean towel between each wash.
Curcumin
Curcumin is a very strong coloring agent found in turmeric and is an ingredient in curry blends. Generally very difficult to remove, especially from light-colored garments. The basic rule is to always saturate the textile fiber with water before attempting to remove the stain. Point one is crucial for the end result.
- Rinse immediately in cold water – Avoid warm water, which can set the stain.
- Treat with dish soap or soap – Rub the soap directly onto the stain and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Use acid - lemon or vinegar – Apply and let sit before washing.
- Sun dry the fabric – Curcumin is naturally bleached by UV light, so letting the fabric lie in the sun can help.
- Wash at a high temperature – If the fabric can withstand it, machine wash.
Clay
Clay is not that difficult to remove; much of it can be solved by simply waiting. Let the garment dry completely. Take out the garment and shake/beat it, and most of the clay will dust off. Difficult clay stains on light-colored garments are pretreated with soap and a brush. Then machine wash according to the washing instructions.
Food
Food is often greasy but can also contain strong colors, so please search our stain blogs in alphabetical order for more specific tips.
But most food is actually greasy, and fat dissolves fat, so wet the stain completely and treat with greasy soap. The stain remover from Västerbottenssåpa works well.
Then wash according to the garment's washing instructions.
Cooking Oil
If there is a large amount of cooking oil, you first need to try to absorb as much fat as you can with cornstarch or potato starch. Scrape off / shake off as long as the stain feels damp from grease. Then wet the stain with lukewarm water and treat with soap. Rinse and repeat before washing according to the washing instructions in the machine.
Rose Hip Soup
Wet the stain with lukewarm water, treat with stain-removing soap/soap and sponge/brush. Repeat until the stain is gone. Then machine wash according to the washing instructions.
