The question should probably be what green soft soap was used for. Green soft soap is no longer manufactured in Sweden. Production stopped when hemp cultivation was banned in Sweden. Since then, demand has remained for the green soft soap people remember from the past. That is why yellow soft soap has been dyed green and sold as green soap (it is green, at least …), but that is not what we mean by green soft soap.
The green soft soap was rich and of high quality, and was used for almost everything around the home, from washing hands to cleaning carpets and scrubbing floors. It is even said to have been a common “home remedy” for curing nail-biting.
