About the Product
Apply the liquid soap directly from the bottle to a brush, sponge, ecofiber cloth, rag, or mop bucket, and scrub clean. The fatty soap easily dissolves greasy dirt and is also effective against all dirt that comes from nature, us humans, or our pets.
The liquid soap has a pH value of 10.6, making it effective against mold, bacteria, and other “pests.” The alkaline, fatty soap is well suited for materials such as wood and stone, as well as synthetic materials.
It is a common misconception that soap cannot be used on synthetic materials at all—it works very well. If you find that a greasy film remains on plastic, for example, this is because you have used too much soap and possibly water that was a little too cold. You can easily solve this by wiping once more with only warm water or, alternatively, warm water with a few drops of dish soap.
This kit includes:
- 1 pc All-Purpose Soap with Juniper Scent, 0.5 L pump bottle
- 1 pc Kitchen Soap, Unscented, 0.5 L pump bottle
- 1 pc Bathroom Soap, Forest Scent, 0.5 L bottle
Usage
Recommended uses:
- All-purpose cleaning soap with spruce scent, for floors. 0.5 L pump bottle
A superfatting soap like this is perfect for cleaning greasy stains and is especially suitable for cleaning and preserving surfaces made of natural materials, such as wooden floors or furniture, as it cares for the wood fibres while chemicals dry them out.
It is tough on stains but gentle on the skin and the environment.
- Kitchen Soap, Unscented, 0.5 L Pump Bottle
To ensure that your kitchen surfaces are truly clean and free from any remaining bacteria, our kitchen soap is completely fragrance-free, so you do not mask any potential unpleasant odours. It is therefore especially suitable for cleaning kitchen worktops, refrigerators, chopping boards and sinks. Cleaning with unscented products without harsh chemicals is particularly important in the kitchen, where you prepare, handle and store food.
The bottle contains liquid, concentrated soap that effectively dissolves greasy stains in the kitchen and prevents the regrowth of unwanted bacteria.
- Bathroom Soap, Forest Scent, 0.5 L Bottle
Bathroom stains are often particularly difficult because they consist of dried toothpaste and soap, as well as dead skin cells. Fungi and mould thrive in damp environments such as shower enclosures, so effective products are needed to get everything clean.
That is where our bathroom soap comes in handy, as it is tough on all types of dirt but gentle on the skin and the environment.

What sets Västerbottenssåpa apart from “ordinary” soaps bought at the grocery store?
Västerbottenssåpa is a circular product made from reused, purified, and saponified rapeseed oil—entirely without new oil raw materials. The soap has properties similar to linseed oil soap and is naturally superfatted. This means it retains a greater surplus of nourishing oils after saponification than ordinary soap from the grocery store, making it especially effective, conditioning, and replenishing for your surfaces.
Frying oil becomes soap: “Eco-friendly and climate-smart”
It has always been important to us to make real soap, without adding unnecessary chemicals, and to deliver nothing but PURE soap.
The history of Västerbottenssåpa began in the 1920s, when great-grandmother Fredrika made her own fine soap at home on the farm in Hornsjö, Vilhelmina.
Three generations later, Fredrika’s legacy of living sustainably and frugally, and reusing materials, lives on in the family—albeit in a modern version adapted to the times we live in today.
Our soap, based on Fredrika’s recipe, has been given packaging, a label, and a name—Västerbottenssåpa.
Instead of the sheep fat Fredrika used, Västerbottenssåpa is now made from used cooking oil collected from selected local restaurants. It is mostly rapeseed oil or a corn and rapeseed oil blend—but NEVER palm oil or animal fat.
The oil, which is purified and saponified, then forms the basis of all our soap-based cleaning products.

Let us tell you how it all fits together
Because the soap is made from recycled raw materials—that is, it is circular—the product’s CO2 emissions are very low. One bottle of soap, including production, packaging, and transportation, has CO2 emissions of approximately 237 g. This can be compared with the emissions from producing 1 kg of palm oil, which are approximately 10 kg.
-
Canola oil is produced as a food product
-
Rapeseed oil is used by restaurants throughout the country.
-
Västerbottenssåpa sources the oil that is purified at the small factory in Vilhelmina. It is then saponified into soft soap.
