About the Product

HAPPY EASTER – A greeting from me, Sara, founder of Västerbottenssåpa.

Our Christmas dishcloth was so well received by you, and quite soon we also started getting requests for more dishcloths and more designs. That is why it feels so wonderful to now be able to present an Easter dishcloth. Click through to the next image, where you will find a picture of the women at Malgomajgården who served as the models for my little watercolour.

I am really a completely hopeless artistic soul who would rather paint than paint well, and whenever I have the opportunity, I can lose myself in art books or my projects for hours. I can get stuck on a particular shade of green not turning out exactly as I want it to and think of little else for several days. Luckily, reality calls me back at regular intervals. Laundry has to be washed, food has to be cooked, and of course you actually have to work too.

What sets Västerbottenssåpa apart from “ordinary” soaps bought at the grocery store?

Västerbottenssåpa is a circular product made from reused, purified, and saponified rapeseed oil—entirely without new oil raw materials. The soap has properties similar to linseed oil soap and is naturally superfatted. This means it retains a greater surplus of nourishing oils after saponification than ordinary soap from the grocery store, making it especially effective, conditioning, and replenishing for your surfaces.
