Fruit tips! Organic, locally produced & clean

We advocate organic in all situations BUT also locally produced, here in the cold north it can, however, be really difficult to find locally produced vegetables and fruits. What you can do is, for example, buy locally grown potatoes and other root vegetables, but when it comes to, for example, apples, it is actually very difficult to even get an apple tree to survive at our latitudes. When apples then have to be purchased, we prefer Swedish apples and preferably organic. A small disadvantage is that they do not keep as long, so remember to store them correctly and do not buy too much, a little at a time is better. The advantages of organic are of course many and predominant! They do not poison either the environment or you!
All fruit must be washed, even organic fruit – it can actually be dirty even if it doesn't have poison on it. Rinsing a little quickly helps little, you have to rub and scrub – i.e., mechanically clean the fruit. A fruit brush is therefore a very good aid. The picture shows a brush with two types of bristles, a harder and a softer one.
