The Easter Blog: Dye your Easter eggs naturally

So for Easter, we want to give tips on dyeing Easter eggs naturally

Here we tell you how to get beautiful, colored eggs without using any dye at all.

This is how we did it

– Boil or blow out your eggs.
– Grate turmeric, beetroot, and red cabbage coarsely on a grater. Preferably use raw vegetables for clearer colors.
– We used coffee, Spirulina powder, and blueberry jam directly as they were.
– Add about two tablespoons of vinegar to each glass and about one teaspoon of regular salt, then add your coloring agent / food.
– Place the egg / eggs in and then fill with water so that it covers the eggs.

– Let sit. Our eggs sat for about 2 hours.
– Dry the eggs and then brush off the pieces of food – they will create an uneven, naturally speckled pattern.

– We dried the eggs standing on a piece of styrofoam with thumbtacks as feet for minimal marks from the drying.

The finished result

The coffee gave an even and nice color, while the spirulina was the least powerful coloring agent, but it still made the egg mildly and beautifully green. The red cabbage also gave a deep and lovely color.

Have a nice, climate-smart, and chemical-free Easter!
