When it comes to slightly tougher stains and ingrained dirt, our old-fashioned solid soap comes in handy. It effectively dissolves even the most stubborn oven stains and outdoor surfaces, using a scrub brush or ecofibre cloth.
Because solid soap is even more concentrated and saves the environment unnecessary transport of water while taking up less storage space.
The jar is made of cardboard and contains solid, concentrated soap that effectively dissolves stains and is naturally antibacterial. The juniper scent is created with juniper bushes in Västerbotten as a model.
Thanks to the clean design, you can leave the jar in front as a nice decorative touch.
If you open the jar, close it, let it stand perhaps a little hot/cold, it can change shape. If you don't want it to change shape, we recommend putting it in an airtight jar. The cardboard can is to be regarded as a transport package, once the can has been opened soap that is not used should be put into a soap changer (see picture) or another container. Airtight container means the soap retains its consistency and color.

💡 Användbara tips:
-
-
Inte för konsumtion! Förvara åtskilt från mat.
-
Förvaras i rumstemperatur.
-
Håll utom räckhåll för barn.
-
Använd inte till ytor målade med linoljefärg.

What makes Västerbottens soap different from "regular" soaps that you buy in the grocery store?
Västerbotten soap has similar properties to a linseed oil soap, which is thus an overfatted soap. Other soaps that you buy in e.g. the grocery store is not overfat and therefore not as efficient. Soaps and soaps have varying amounts of excess oils and fats, that is, the part of fat that remains after saponification. Västerbottens soap has a larger surplus and is therefore extra caring and re-greasing.

A story of 100 years of sustainable soap making
Let us tell you how it all comes together
Because the soap is made from recycled raw materials, i.e. is circular, the CO2 emissions for the product are very low. A bottle of soap including production, packaging and transport has a CO2 emission of approx. 237 g. This can be compared to the emissions for producing 1 kg of palm oil, which is approx. 10 kg.
Rapeseed oil is produced as food.
Rapeseed oil is used in restaurants around the country
Västerbottenssåpa sources the oil that is purified in the small factory in Vilhelmina. It is then saponified into soap
The soap is sent to you by mail.
Contains only three ingredients
Our soap contains only water, soap (saponified rapeseed oil) 15-30% and any perfume

Common questions
How do you use solid soap?
Apply solid soap directly to a brush or sponge. Add some lukewarm water and then start cleaning the surface.
What are the advantages of solid soap?
Solid soap has several advantages and is extra effective for certain types of cleaning:
- It is highly concentrated and takes up little space in the cleaning cupboard
- It does not run off vertical surfaces such as cleaning kitchen tiles
- It effectively dissolves grease and stored dirt, e.g. for oven cleaning
- You can use it for stain removal on e.g. shoes and outerwear
- You don't transport water = climate smart
Is solid soap water-soluble?
Of course it is, but it takes time. If you need to mop the floor, it is much faster to use liquid soap that is quickly mixed with water in the bucket.
What is the difference between perfumed and unscented bar soap?
Both are very effective against tougher stains such as oven stains, the only difference is that one has a woody scent and the other is unscented.
How many degrees should the oven be at when cleaning the oven
The oven should be at between 90-100 degrees for about 20 minutes.
How do I clean the oven?
Start by brushing all loose debris out of the oven with the brush.
Take the soap on a cloth, ecofibre cloth, cleaning sponge or brush and lukewarm water. Work the soap and water over all surfaces of the oven.
Set the oven to 90 - 100 degrees for about 20 minutes and place a bowl of water in it.
Turn off the oven and let it cool before you start drying it.
An alternative is to leave the oven with the soap overnight, recommended if the oven is very dirty, and continue the next day. Feel free to use the ecofibre cloth when drying and wipe with a damp cloth.
Common questions
Does the kitchen soap have a scent?
No, the kitchen soap allows you to experience the subtle scents of life as you go, without added perfume. It is therefore particularly suitable for cleaning kitchen counters, refrigerators, cutting boards and other surfaces where strongly scented cleaning agents are not recommended. It is also an excellent choice for those who are sensitive to fragrances or prefer fragrance-free products.
What can I clean with kitchen soap?
You can clean anything, especially where you prefer fragrance-free cleaning products. This soap is especially good at dissolving grease commonly found in the kitchen. If you use it to wash dishes, be sure to rinse it well, as it is not recommended to eat soap.
How do I use the kitchen soap?
You can use it directly on a cloth, scouring pad or scrubbing brush with a little lukewarm water – to clean the dirtier surfaces, rinse well and dry with a dry cloth.
You can also dilute one to three capsules (2-6 tablespoons) in 10 liters of water, depending on how dirty the surface is.
