We are probably a bit bad at this National Day celebration, we still have a way to go before we reach Norway's level. But we have had a nice day in the mountains and I hope you have had a nice day and celebrated in your own way.
We went to Stekenjokk to be there when the road over the mountain opens and when the clock was 12 there were quite a few people waiting.

The sun shone and the sky was blue and there was indeed a little snow left.

There was this much snow where there was the most.

Oh yes! We brought a bottle of our new detergent that will be released soon.
It needed to be photographed with a bit of snow behind it ;)

Then we headed back to Klimpfjäll to charge the car and have food at Hotell Klimpfjäll.
Today they served a fantastic National Day buffet.
There was chanterelle pie and Västerbotten cheese pie, sandwiches with salmon, herring and well, you hear, there was so much good stuff here.
Yet some in the company chose the Stekenjokk pizza with chanterelles and Sovas, not bad either.

We actually ate so much that we had to take a little walk in the village and say hello to some acquaintances and see how the fish was waking up on Kultsjön.

Mandatory picture when Röberget appears after the curve ;)
We would probably say that this was quite a good way to celebrate National Day!
How did you celebrate National Day?
Questions and answers
1. Why do we celebrate National Day on June 6th?
We celebrate June 6th in memory of Gustav Vasa being elected King of Sweden on June 6, 1523, and partly in memory of the 1809 Instrument of Government (which was in force until the 1974 Instrument of Government) being signed on June 6, 1809.
2. Why does Vildmarksvägen open on June 6th?
During the winter months, the snow is deep on the bare mountain. Then the road is closed. From June 6 to October 15, it is possible to drive the entire Vildmarksvägen. Some of the snow remains during the summer
3. What is special about Stekenjokk?
Vildmarksvägen, which runs across the Stekenjokk plateau, is one of the few (perhaps the only) roads that runs across bare mountain and thus the only place where you can actually go mountain hiking by car.
