Letâs talk about perfumes
Sara Idenforsđ. Letâs talk about fragrances, perfumes, and essential oils. Our products either contain no perfume at all (gray labels) or a small amount of carefully reviewed, carefully selected perfume. None of our products need warning symbols on the backâfeel free to compare them with your other products. We do not make products that harm you or the environment; this is precisely why they do not smell strong.
đŹ. Did you know that research shows cleaning with cleaning sprays is just as bad for your lungs as smoking?
.
đđ». Did you know that a perfume can contain anywhere from 10 to 300 different chemicals, depending on its complexity?

When you smell one of our products: Apply the product to a clean cloth, add warm water and ready-mixed spray or soap from the pump bottle, and smell it now!

âïž. If you want a cleaning product to smell very strong, look for warning symbols and a low price. Cheap products are often rich in perfumes and chemicals.
Essential oils used as perfumes have some disadvantages. One is that they often contain allergens; the other is that they are oils. Soap and genuine soap contain natural, readily biodegradable surfactants. (All dishwashing, laundry, and cleaning products contain some form of surfactant.) The surfactant penetrates the grease (the greasy dirt) with its hydrophobic tail and leaves its hydrophilic surfactant head on the outside. That is what happens when you apply dish soap to a greasy plate and wash it. Without dish soap (a surfactant), the plate does not become clean; that is how a surfactant works. If you add essential oils to a product that contains surfactants, the surfactants will break down and destroy the essential oil as well. They do not distinguish between fats but attack everything in the same way. That is why it is difficultâindeed, impossibleâto make an essential oil work as a perfume in soap; it will be destroyed. What you can do is buy our unscented soap and add essential oil to the mop bucket when using it. It will not have time to break down, and you can choose the scent yourself :) Be careful with essential oils and perfumes, as they are highly concentrated and often contain allergens.
