To Jämtland for a study visit

Last Saturday was actually Magnus's birthday, so we decided to pull ourselves together and go to Jämtland to visit Kretsloppshuset in Mörsil. We've driven past several times but haven't really had the time or opportunity to stop, and in the feeds, this Kretsloppshuset pops up time and time again. The pictures are accompanied by nothing but laudatory texts, so now it was finally time to go.

Whether to have an electric car or not is hotly debated, and some people are a bit provoked by electric cars. It's a strange "thing" that people react that way, but we've still chosen to switch to electric and let solar panels on the garage roof charge when possible. Now it's going fine, and the battery showed 100% when we left Vilhelmina.

Kretsloppshuset offers excellent food and drink of the highest ecological quality in a particularly beautiful and charming rural environment. There is also a shop with products with an ecological profile, happy hens that produce eggs for pancakes, and their own food craftsmanship where forest berries, in particular, are processed into delicious delicacies. In addition, they have beautiful and functional training and conference rooms for smaller and larger meetings, and the many pleasant after-work events and happenings that pop up in the feed suggest that this is very popular in the region. On their website, Kretsloppshuset talks about joy and inspiration for a sustainable lifestyle that permeates everything, big and small, and has done so for nearly 25 years, and this is the main reason why we've been so curious about this place. What does something so long-term and sustainable look like?

In our own business, we strive for and struggle with sustainability and circularity daily. It's what drives us, but it's also our biggest challenge because nothing in our society is adapted to be circular. The norm is unfortunately still linear consumption, and breaking that trend is not easy every day. There is a massive regulatory framework that actually counteracts circular business today. Enough about that, more about the Jämtland trip!

There was a coffee in Ström or "på flaata" as they say if you live there... do you know the background? Please write a comment. Here in Vilhelmina, it's called "på plass'n" (I can tell you about that another day).

Once we arrived, it was actually a little past lunchtime, so we went straight for the lunch menu, and 75% of the party fell for the lasagna with lingon ketchup, and I couldn't resist a mixed plate. You want to taste everything. Beetroot pie, tomato soup, and homemade bread were served, and the portions were really generous. We also had their own blueberry juice, which was absolutely delicious.

It certainly tastes extra good when you know it's organic and also in every other way.

In the restaurant, there was a sign that I liked very much, which said, "Here we cook our food and bake our bread with the utmost respect for global justice. Enjoy with a clear conscience!" I thought it was wisely expressed; it becomes a problem if we can't do our best. If every teaspoon in a recipe had to be traced to its source, it could actually become impossible to do anything good, and we can't have that! Sometimes we have to do the best we can in a world that isn't perfect, but if we work towards the same goal, it gets both easier and better day by day.

After the food, there was coffee from Åre coffee roastery and then a study visit to the hens.

... a good while to admire the peach tree and also to shop in the store.

This was a longer trip for us, but so well worth it! What an inspiration!

-Yes, you can see in the picture how unreasonably full and happy I look ;)
Thank you Jämtland, we'll be back!
